As it is still winter and we finally had a bit of snow here, I felt this shot was a perfect candidate for today’s review. The photograph work is entitled Winter Waterfalls by garyaman.

This shot screams hot coffee and cold days. The dried brush on the right side is a distracting from the icy falls. From a composition standpoint moving what I believe is the focus, the waterfalls, to the right of the frame it would open the shot up to a less cluttered view. The shot of the falls itself is well taken with good shutter speed control. The snow is a bit washed out and that is difficult to prevent as snow in and of itself is white. A neutral density filter may have helped along with creating that perfect HDR shot with tripod and -2 to +2 EV ...

It’s a bit cloudy outside with a good chance of snow this afternoon. I found the perfect photo to lift my spirits, though it’s one of Autumn it caught my attention right off. Today’s photograph review is of the Photograph entitled “Fall Trail“ by CreationPhotos.

There is a lot to love about the natural beauty of this shot. The almost divine way the light shimmers through the trees onto the trail, the vibrant colors and the overall feeling of hope on any journey. It’s an impressive photo that screams this is the path to take.
Okay now that my interest has been peaked let’s take that closer analytical look. Composition is superb the angle almost perfect. Sliding the trail a touch to the right in the frame with the way it curves left deeper in the scene could make this a touch more appealing and ...

I apologize for the long hiatus again. That small cold turned big and was rather annoying. Well I’m back to not being sick but flat on my back after a day of laundry and sitting at my desk working with Bryce. I hope to work more in Bryce as it is a very cool program.
Back to the topic of the day an excellent landscape photograph called Zion National Park Grand View by LilRedPhotography. Sometimes it’s the simple grace of a scene that catches my eye now that it’s there it’s time for the pro’s and con’s.

What I like about this piece is the simplicity. The shot is enhanced by the great cloud cover and sky activity. The wild brush in the foreground provides good coverage and helps lead the eye deeper into the shot. This is one of those ...

This morning I’m fighting a bit of a head cold so if I sound congested, I apologize in advance. The review for the the day is of a photograph that can be interpreted in many ways so I want to remind every one that you may not agree with what I see as it is only my opinion and I love to hear other expressions on the same photo. The photograph is entitled Morning Inspiration by Christine Goldbeck.

A large number of thoughts rush through my head on this shot. I love the ambiance cast and emotional strength of this well balanced scape. To me it seems like a gateway to a whole new world beckoning us forward to a new adventure that has promise of excitement and treasures. The framing of the shot and balance of the haze is elegant and well ...

I chose this photograph for today as it is a wonderful shot that brings the optimism out in me. The photo for review today is called Athabasca Falls by vilhei. I love a good landscape shot one that captures not only the beauty of what is on the ground but the sky as well and this shot is very well balanced in all areas.

The composition is wonderful I almost wish this was a landscape shot vs portrait as my eyes follow the rock face to the back of this cove and off the print. A wider angle could help that aspect and not lessen the beauty of this piece. I love the tonal range captured it is perfect for this shot from the sky to water of the lake the stunning colors just pull you in.
