This “Packera obovata”, more commonly known as the Senecio of the daisy family, stood out to me in sharp contrast to the wooded path we were on. It seemed to scream “Here I am”. With a plant so bold who could resist adding it to their portfolio.
Even thought these daisy type of flowers are in the dark, they may have a purpose. This particalur flower is also known as the “Eastern Daisy Fleabane” and may repell fleas when dried. It is amazing what you can learn from the online encylopedia wiki.

This stylophorum diphyllum stood out in stark contrast to it’s surroundings along a path at Wild Life Prairie Park in Central Illinois. The poppy-wort (also known as stylophorum, celandine poppy, wood poppy, or yellow poppy) is a member of the poppy family native to eastern North America.
